As of now, it doesn’t seem like the fortunes of the Multiverse of Madness will be affected by new releases like Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Also starring Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams, the film from director Sam Raimi pits the titular superhero against a threat to the multiverse.
In terms of global collections, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has amassed $552.05 million (Rs 4,277 crore) so far. In its home market, North America, the film has grossed $230.85 million.
The film had started its theatrical journey with a $450 million weekend world premiere and in India had grossed Rs 79.50 crore during the first three days.
The film also features cameos from John Krasinski, Patrick Stewart, Haley Atwell, Charlize Theron, Lashana Lynch, among others.
Indian Express film critic Shalini Langer gave the film a mixed review. She wrote: “You can go from universe to universe, back and forth, to Doctor Strange version 838 or Doctor Strange version 613 (both specifically identified here), one thing remains constant. Wherever you go, Marvel will follow you. It may be the Madness Multiverse (which it is), but it’s mostly the Marvel Multiverse. The spatial continuum will just take you from character to character, as many as you can in two hours of film.”
