Hisense has been making televisions for quite some time. It has one of the most popular proprietary operating systems, but it’s also moved to Android TV and more recently to Roku. Now, it’s finally worked with Amazon to create its first line of Fire TVs.
Today, the company, with Amazon introduced the Hisense U6HF series 50-inch 4K ULED TV. It’s a QLED TV, which isn’t a first for Fire TV, but it’s one of the first. Insignia and Toshiba have launched Fire TV QLED televisions. But that means you’re going to get a really nice picture here.
Hisense has included proprietary ULED technologies to enhance color, contrast, brightness and motion
Hisense has been using its own proprietary ULED technologies for some time. And that’s why you’ll see both ULED and QLED mentioned here. These technologies will provide improved color, contrast, brightness and motion. For truly amazing image quality.
Now, as mentioned, this is a 4K TV, it also has Dolby Vision HDR, HDR10 and HDR10+ included. So you’ll get over 8 million pixels for stunning clarity, deep contrast and vivid colors here.
Hisense has also included Auto Low Latency or ALLM mode. This means that your TV settings are automatically adjusted for your entertainment to achieve smooth streaming and uninterrupted gaming. And there is also support for variable refresh rate or VRR.
There are four HDMI ports on the back, but unfortunately none of them are HDMI 2.1. All four do 4K@60Hz, with HDMI 1 also doing HDMI-ARC for soundbars. There’s a USB-A port on the back, along with an AV input, coax, headphone port, LAN, and digital audio output (for older soundbars). Lots of ports here, with really only HDMI 2.1 being the only omission. But at this price, we can’t really complain.
Amazon Fire TV is also built into this Hisense TV, so you won’t need to use as many HDMI ports. This also gives you access to Alexa, as well as all your favorite apps. This includes Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube TV and more.
When can I buy this TV?
The Hisense U6 Series Fire TV model is ready for pre-order today. And it will be released on May 24, 2022.
Currently, there is only one size for the U6, which is 50 inches. The price is $529, which is quite competitive with LCD TVs of the same size. So you get a very good price here.
