One of Mail’s new features that many users who receive a lot of email will appreciate is the ability to flag messages for later recall. This is great for work emails that can often arrive at different times of the day, but need to be addressed at some point.

To use this feature, swipe left to right on an email in the inbox, then select the Later option to specify a time. By default, 1 a.m., tonight and tomorrow are shown, but if you want finer control over the reminder time, select Remind me later, then you can choose a specific date and time to remind you of. Perhaps one of the most anticipated features of iOS 16 Mail is the ability to schedule emails to be sent later. This is ideal when you write emails late at night but don’t want to send them until the morning. Mail can now accommodate this when composing an email on iPhone and iPad.

To send a message later, long press the send button to access the options.

Compose your message as you normally would, but when you want to send the message later, just press and hold the send button to get the send later options. It will offer some options based on your previous later send times, or you can tap Send later to specify an exact date and time you want the email to be sent from your device.

Cancel send

Unsend is a cool feature that Apple has added to both Mail app and Messages app when you want to unsend an email after you have already pressed the send button. . Note that you will only have 10 seconds to cancel before the message is actually sent; this feature will not recall an email that has already been sent.

The Undo Send option appears at the bottom of the Mail app for 10 seconds. Tap it to cancel sending the message.

To use this feature, after sending an email, you will see an Undo Send button in the toolbar at the bottom of the Mail app. Tap this button to unsend the message and redisplay the message in the editor so you can easily edit the message and try sending it again. However, the Undo Send option will only be available 10 seconds before the message is sent.

Note that these tips in this article are for iOS 16, which is currently in beta. iOS 16 will be released in beta in July 2022 and as a final product in fall 2022.
