Actor Ranbir Kapoor released the trailer for his upcoming dacoit drama shamshera on Friday. Also present at the trailer launch were his co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Vani Kapoor. The actor, who was late for the trailer release, revealed that his car was hit while he was driving.
He shared, “My day has been bad so far. Early in the morning, my driver took me to the wrong mall, where someone rammed my car and my car glass shattered. So, I just want this (event) to go well and for people to like our trailer.”
Ranbir then called 2022 a special year, not only because two of his big movies, Shamshera and Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, are ready for release, but because he married Alia Bhatt.
Ranbir shared that, unlike his character Bunny from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, who disparagingly called the marriage ‘dal-chawal’, likes it the way it is. He said: “Movies aside, it’s a big year for me, a big year for me, I got married. It is a beautiful thing that has happened in my life. I used to say, in my movies, that shaadi (marriage) is dal chawal.”
Ranbir then, referring to the film’s dialogue, said: “Shaadi is daal chawal for pachaas saal until you die. Arey life mein thoda bahut keema pav, tangdi kebab, hakka noodles bhi hona chahiye na (You can’t eat boring dal-rice for 50 years, you need other flavors too)!”
“But boss, after my experiences in life, I can say that dal-chawal is the best. My life with Alia is better. My life has dal chawal with tadka, pickles and onions, it has everything. So, I couldn’t have asked for a better life partner,” she added.
When asked if Alia has seen the trailer for ShamsheraRanbir said, “She has seen the teaser, not the trailer yet. She must be sleeping in London right now.
Ranbir has been missed from the silver screen for the past four years and now has two consecutive theatrical releases. When asked if fans of the actor will be able to see him doing more movies now. He said, “I have to do a lot of work now, first I was working for myself, now I want my family to work for my family.”
