Ever since JugJugg Jeeyo’s trailer surfaced online, the now-popular song from the movie ‘Nach Punjaabban’ has been stirring up some controversy. the original singer of the song Abrar Ul Haq accused Dharma Productions of stealing the issue and claimed that he had not sold the rights. Now, the movie actor Varun Dhawan, in a recent interview, has said that the music company T-Series bought the rights to the song. Varun also thanked the Pakistani creator for his music.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Varun said, “I want to tell Abrar that he sang the song very well, the original one. It is incredible, exceptional and we loved it. Our music company bought the rights, and now our song is doing really well, so thank you.”

Shortly after the song’s release, Abrar said on Twitter, “I have not sold my song Nach Punjaban to any Indian movies and I reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar shouldn’t use ripped songs. This is my sixth song to be copied and it will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar.”

T-Series later claimed that they had in fact purchased the rights and released a statement saying, “All due credits will be included on all platforms when the song is released. As represented by Moviebox Records Label, the copyright for said song is granted exclusively to moviebox only with all valid documents.”

In a video shared on Twitter, Abrar stated that the song “belongs to me and I will take it back, God willing, and I will go to court.” He added that Karan Johar and T-Series had stolen the song from him and simply giving credit is not enough as he did not give anyone the right to use the track.
