WhatsApp is a very popular messaging service, but one gripe people have is the lack of support for multiple devices. However, the company is taking steps forward in this regard. According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working to allow you to sync a secondary device with your account.

WhatsApp lets you link your account to another device, and they can access your account without the need for internet. However, it’s not quite like syncing your messages to an account and just being able to log in to another device.

But WhatsApp can let you add a secondary device to your account.

This was discovered in a beta version of the app, so it’s not available to the public yet. Furthermore, it also means that this feature may never see the light of day.

When you enable this feature, you will be able to log in to your account on another device. Once connected, your messages will be copied to this device. You will know this is happening because a dialog will appear at the top of the screen.

Depending on how many messages you have, copying all of your messages may take some time. While the app is forwarding the messages, you won’t have access to your old messages. You can compose new messages, but you won’t see old ones until synchronization is complete.

We don’t know at this point if WhatsApp will keep the secondary device constantly in sync. The app may sync messages at a certain time, just like backing up messages. However, these are only speculations.

This feature could be great for people who have multiple devices and don’t want to stick with just one. It might be useful to have more than one device to message people. The secondary device could be a tablet, which will lead to a better typing experience. We don’t know when this feature will release, so you’ll have to keep an eye on it.
