Where are Indians traveling this holiday season?

As we prepare to celebrate and look forward to the holiday season, data from digital travel company Booking.com reveals Indians are taking flight with the United Arab Emirates, France and the UK being the three most booked international destinations between October 1 and November 30, 2021.

In terms of domestic travel, Indian travelers book destinations across the country, from the beaches of Goa to the mountains and hills of Manali and Darjeeling. Hotels remain the most booked type of accommodation. In addition, travelers are also looking to stay in alternative accommodation such as guest houses, host families, hostels and apartments, the data reveals.

Commenting on the results, Ritu Mehrotra, Regional Manager for South Asia at Booking.com, said, “With the pace of vaccination accelerating and the easing of travel restrictions in India and around the world, we are seeing a return of travelers’ confidence. As the holiday season approaches, travelers are starting to plan their next trip, whether it’s home to visit family or indulge in leisure trips with friends. While bookings are largely domestic, we are also seeing demand for international travel back on the agenda. “
