Russian Tourist’s Kira Suvorovaa’s Agra Video Goes Viral, Sparks Debate on Tourist Safety

Agra: A video shared by a Russian tourist about her experience while walking on a road in Agra has gone viral on social media, starting a discussion about tourist safety and public behaviour in the city.

The video was posted on Instagram by Kira Suvorova, a Russian tourist who describes herself as a psychologist. In the caption, she wrote, “We decided to walk to the shop in Agra. Never do this.”

Video Shows Kira Suvorova Walking on Yamuna Kinara Road

The 23-second clip shows Kira walking along a roadside, reportedly on Yamuna Kinara Road in Agra. During the walk, an auto-rickshaw driver and another man approached her. In the background, some locals can be heard calling out, “Ma’am, Ma’am, Excuse Me Ma’am.”

The video appears to have been recorded by one of her companions walking behind her. Kira looked uncomfortable as she continued walking down the road.

The clip quickly gained attention online. Within two days, it received more than 23,000 likes and was shared thousands of times. Many social media users expressed concern about the experience of the foreign tourist and raised questions about safety for visitors in India.

However, Agra Police later issued a clarification regarding the incident. According to officials, some claims circulating on social media were inaccurate and exaggerated.

Agra Police Issues Clarification On The Video

Assistant Police Commissioner Sukanya Sharma said that there was no molestation or direct harassment involved in the incident. She added that some social media users were spreading misleading information about what happened.

Police officials stated that Kira had recorded and uploaded the video herself and later mentioned that she felt uncomfortable during the walk. Authorities believe this led to rumours and different interpretations being shared online.

The police also said that they remain committed to ensuring the safety of tourists visiting Agra, which is home to the world-famous Taj Mahal. Officials reminded people that spreading false or inflammatory information on social media could lead to legal action.

The viral video is still getting a lot of attention online, with users divided between concerns over tourist experiences and support for the police clarification regarding the incident.
